Cider with Gammon Honey and Mustard

Cider is delicious with Gammon,and even more so when the gammon is actually cooked in the cider.


You will need:-

2 gammon steaks

2 onions

4 pints of cider 3 to drink and one for the sauce

whole grain mustard to taste

2 tsp honey

a knob of butter

salt and pepper to taste

handful of chopped curly parsley

New potatoes and curly kale


This dish is best cooked in the oven at 180C for 30-40 mins.Fry the onions until caramelised.Place in a dish on top of the gammon steaks.Add the whole grain mustard and honey  to the cider and stir well…..the cider you’re adding to the dish,mind,not the bit you’re drinking!Add a generous handful of chopped fresh curly leaf parsley to the dish

Serve with new potatoes and curly kale,and a glass of your favourite cider.
